Guess who's going to be 4?

Looking back at how far Nadia has come: May 5, 2011 she rolled over for the first time, May 18 her first tooth, September said words like "Hi", Daddy", "Mama", "Tank you", signing "all done", "more", "food", July 10, 2012 said "want something else", "so funny", "I'm funny", "I miss Grace (Pereira)". Nadia can dress herself and likes to go on bike rides with her big brother. She can write her name and likes to color, loves to sing and dance.

Superstars!

Jonas started U7 Boys Soccer with Cliff Avenue, new teammates except for Adriano and Kairuv as they remain - their dads and Jonas' are co-coaches. Nadia begins U5 Cliff Ave. with the legendary Tony Waiters 1986 World Cup Team Canada head coach. Both kids are back in swimming at Edmonds Community Centre, now only with instructors, no parents. Jonas is in the big pool and can swim several meters unassisted. Nadia is like a fish - loves the water! Makes coaching all the more worth it.

Books

Jonas is a big help these days including happily  jumping out of the car on the way home to  get the mail from the locked mail box. May of this year he started reading books on his own - one of the first: "A Big Guy Took My Ball". Jedi Training   The Sciences Memories of Kindergarten. Up next: Grade One.

The Lions and Mount Harvey

Image
On August 16th Dino and I climbed the West Lion (to the precarious "shoulder" at least) in the mist, about a 16 km 8 hour r ound trip from Lions Bay, 1646m (5400 ft) elevation. September 7th we peaked the mighty Mount Harvey, in the summer sun, at 1652m (5420 ft). The views - the rarely seen north aspect of The Lions, and Howe Sound - were astonishing! What a Summer!

Image
Since the last day of school my family and I have done so many fun and exciting things: golf lessons, visit my Great Grandparents and cousins in Kelowna, eat cherries, go to the beach, my 6th birthday party with wild animals, hiking, camping and fishing at Cultus Lake, growing tomatoes, the beach at White Rock, I built a lego plane, went on bike rides, pool time,  picked blackberries,   and back to Kelowna to finish out the summer boating and tubing. We look forward to school but don 't want the summer to end yet.
