Life goes on

In the past month or so Nadia has been brave enough to leave home and walk to the center courtyard, by herself, to play with the neighborhood girls. At first, we were a bit scared letting her out, out of eye site, to the other side of our townhome building, but we are now comfortable letting her go on her own as long as there are other kids there. On Dad's way home from work he often sees her playing with the kids there.

She successfully completed her creative dance program at Shadbolt Center near Deer Lake and is re-registered for next year. Tot Gym Two Gymnastics at Queens Park was another program Nadia successfully completed. Way to go! Nadia is beginning to mimic mommy's phrases and mannerisms, often sounding cute and older than her age! She loves to sing and knows some Beatles songs ("O-blah-dee, o-blah-da, life goes on") and surprising a lot about The Beatles, for example: "John Lennon was shot because he was famous and someone was jealous".We're all working hard to get Nadia reading and writing efficiently on her own - she often brings home, from school, little notes and drawings for us to admire.

Jonas has been taking Tuxedo for walks by himself around the neighborhood regularly. This is good because Jonas then doesn't snack before dinner and Tux gets some exercise. He can be heard saying: "Mom, don't tell me fairy tales". Dad's been taking the kids to school almost every Monday to Wednesday up until this week. The bosses are away so the kids are going to before AND after school care - this means earlier mornings for everyone and more work for Mom. We just love her!

Other highlights include: Jonas completing Spring Soccer Camp - still one of the best players there, "Hats-off" day on Hastings with the Pereiras, Crystal Falls hike and berry picking at Krause farms, both with the Mitchells (and Molly), and Byrne Creek hike with the Pereiras (and Tux) this past weekend!

Summer vacation is fast approaching and Mom has been working hard, not only at the clinic, but at home including making plans for the whole family: kids summer camps, VBS, a certain boy's 8th birthday and just about everything else you can imagine!

Life is too short.
