School Kidz

Jonas is consistently acing his spelling tests with 22/20 scores (bonus points)! He's read a couple of books so far this school year too, his favorite series right now "Diary of a Wimpy Kid".  He's no wimpy kid himself though, as he's scored about a half dozen goals this year for his soccer club and has been invited to several select training and team tournaments. As our occasional captain Jonas is displaying good skill and determination in all areas of the field.

Nadia is now spelling, reading and writing on her own. She reads a couple of small books a night to us and practices her spelling before and during dinner. She still needs a bit of help with Bible verses but she tries hard which is most important.  Her BC Girls Choir Concerts are coming up in one month and we're looking forward to that! She can be very mature and matter of fact in her conversation but then often reminds us she's still a six year-old. The kids still enjoy their cartoons as they usually deserve the break from school work but we encourage them to constructively play together which they usually do well.

Last month Tux spent a day at the vet. The kids we're horsing around and (accidentally?) sat on him. His back leg buckled and he had a limp - a sprain? Fortunately it was not serious but a bit expensive. He's okay now but we think the kids understand that kind of play must not continue.
