2017

I, Jonas, am writing the first part of this post so...welcome to 2017! It started off very snowy. We skied, swam, skated and after that we were back in school and work in the cold cold winter. Soccer was cancelled almost all month because of the ice and snow. Nadia's BC Girls Choir continues with the Spring Concert preparation. When I need to I can heat, in the microwave, my own meals, and shower myself and pretty much take care of myself including helping make my lunch, getting dressed and putting away clothes and books. Nadia still needs a bit more help but is starting to do a lot more chores at home and at school. Mommy and Daddy are happy about this.

Daddy: Nadia is reading and writing at a higher and higher level each month, and pretty much reads and writes by herself now. Jonas has read eleven books of the "Diary Of a Wimpy Kid" series, all on his own, and all before the end of January. He read an entire book in one day! Jonas was Star-of-the-week at school recently where he did an oral presentation on himself including how his was born (see July 2008) and what he is doing now. Over Christmas the kids got into Cutthroat Kitchen, a Food Network TV program where chefs compete for the approval of food judges. We tried it at home: Dad's beef-pork burgers versus the kids fresh salad ensembles. Tux broke a claw on the nearby bridge anti-slip grating, on a walk to the park, so we've been at the vet a few times while he heals. He's had to where a bandage then a cone but now as we move into February, he is almost fully healed, less one-half claw. Tux has happily spent a couple of cold winter nights in Jonas' bed. More to come this year...
